His book shows how Black men and women can build loving, trusting relationships. Inspired by the marriage of his college friend, President Barack Obama, Harper opens up old and new dialogues about relationships. The book discusses trust, communication, intimacy, and sex. He talks about the dating scene, myths about Black men, how women can let go of the "heaviness" they sometimes attach to dating, and more. The book overall is very inspirational and healing for Black America.
